Needlework and textile art
Needlework takes hours of patience and looks beautiful when stretched and framed. You can choose a frame or mount that picks out the colours in the needlework. To protect the delicate silk or wool from fading work can be glazed using UV protective glass.
We prepare fabric items meticulously , using traditional stretching techniques; stitching items across acid free mount board. We do not use glue or pins and the methods we use are all reversible.
Whatever your sport, a framed shirt from your favourite team makes a spectacular centrepiece.
We take time over framing sports shirts, carefully stretching them over acid free mount board to give the shirt shape. Sleeves are then stitched in place before the shirt is attached to the backing mount with a few stitches. We do not use glue or pins and the methods we use are all reversible. The top mount is spaced to keep the shirt away from the glass.
Mount boards can be selected to match team colours and then the whole thing is framed in a deep box frame to provide lasting protection.
There is also the option to finish with UV filtering glass to prevent signatures from fading.
Shirts can be framed with other memorabilia such as medals, photos, tickets or a certificate. Its a great way to celebrate a sporting achievement or sporting hero.
All kinds of shirts can be framed, football shirts, marathon running vests, rugby shirts, cycle shirts. And not just shirts. We can also frame equestrian rosettes, ballet shoes, baby clothes or shoes, the list is only limited by your imagination.
Tower of London Poppies
After the magnificent art installation at the Tower of London in 2014 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' we have been asked to frame a number of the ceramic poppies from the display.
Poppies can be framed on their own, with the certificate of authentication or with other precious memorabilia such as the medals from a family member who served in the First World War.
The picture shows needlework stretching in progress.
We offer a full canvas stretching service for all your canvas based art work whether they be oil or acrylic paintings, batik or other canvas based work.
Art on canvas needs to be stretched over a stretcher frame before hanging.
We can either take the image over the edge and leave the work unframed for a minimal contemporary look or the picture can be framed in a variety of ways to suit the image.
From ornate gilt frames to contemporary tray frames we can help with all aspects of canvas framing.
Gallery43 stocks a range of reasonably priced ready made frames in a variety of colours and finishes.
Ready made frames are available in a range of standard photograph and print and paper sizes.
Large quantities can be ordered and specific sizes can be made to order in batches.
